Thanks!

Thanks Uncle Mac and Aunt Cindy for my adorable bib. I thought it was too cute to get drool on, but these days I can't help it. Its no wonder I'm not dehydrated!
I'm giving mommy a hard time by not smiling when the flash goes off...I love playing games with her. I miss you! Joe

Happy Birthday Marmee!

Happy Birthday Marmee! We had a blast this weekend. Thanks for coming to visit us and we hope you had a wonderful time. I know I did...I got to get my picture taken at the pumpkin patch, start mommy's Christmas shopping, and I loved spending time with you (I especially liked it when you talked and sang to me!) I'll miss you and can't wait to see you in November! I love you-Joe
PS...Mommy and Daddy love you too!

Sitting Pretty

A little wobbly here...

Today, Joe was in his swing and started getting fussy, so I got him out (I know, I'm such a good mom). As I was playing with him in my lap, he was basically sitting up by himself! Of course, I had to run and get the camera. So here are some pictures of Joe sitting up for the first time. He's still a little shaky and leans forward a bit, but hey...perfection will come later. I think he's just so excited that his Marmee is going to be here tomorrow...he had to have a new trick from the last time she saw him.

Pre-Halloween

We had a preview of Halloween today. I had to make sure the costume was still going to fit. Here is a sneak peek. The whole costume will be revealed on Halloween. I know I'm biased, but he looks ADORABLE!

PS- I know I have chubby feet and will likely have flat feet as both of my parents have flat feet. Im already going to therapy. Joe

4 Month Check-up

Joe had his 4 month check up last week (Ive picked up some extra shifts at the hospital, so its taken me a while to post...sorry!) He weighed in at 15 pounds and 25 3/4 inches long. The doctor thinks he may have some allergies because he coughs some and has some eczema...so we are taking some allergy medicine and antibiotic for the next 14 days. Let me tell you, its not fun to give medicine to a nursing baby! Let's just say we are lucky to get 1/2 the medicine, the other 1/2 ends up on the burp cloth. I hope they give larger doses thinking that most babies won't take the whole dose. Oh well, he has been coughing less. Other than that, the doctor (aka Mary Poppins...who by the way has to carry a lap top now and her basket!) says he looks fantastic and she'll see us in another 2 months!

I have to give props (do people still say that or am I getting old?) to my husband. He and Joe spent the whole weekend together while I was working. Saturday was a little rough as Joe decided to cry ALL day long. Even though Joe wasn't cooperating, Jeff had vacuumed, emptied all the trash cans, tidied up and had supper cooking when I got home...how amazing! He's trying to show me how its done...house work and keeping a kid. Luckily, Sunday was a breeze as Joe was a good boy all day. I'm glad last week is over. Its always tough getting back into the swing of things after being on vacation.

Also, I have the best boss! She gave me a "snow" day today...yes, its a little chilly and raining today, but she told me to stay home and she would see me tomorrow. I love her!!!!

Fun-filled week

We started the week off by going to see Marmee. Daddy and mommy went to the Razorback game while Marmee and Aunt Janet watched me. I had a blast! Then mommy and Marmee took me shopping and made me try on outfit after outfit, but I must say I do look handsome in my new clothes and sleepers! Thanks Marmee! We had a great time! Hopefully we'll see you in a few weeks...

Then, we headed up to see Grandpa and Grammy in Bella Vista. Aunt Brenda and cousins Elizabeth, Rebecca and Abigail came to visit too! We had lots of fun! I got to get in the pool for the very first time in my surfer outfit (mommy said I needed to wear it this year, because I won't be able to fit in it next year).

How cute am I? (Excuse my bum, mommy didn't buy me little swimmers and I had 1/2 the pool in my diaper)

Aunt Brenda, Mommy, Abigail and me

This is my cousin Abigail. She's bigger than me now, but just wait...I'll catch up soon! I had such a fun-filled week that I slept 4 1/2 out of the 6 hours home and then took an 1 1/2 hour nap after I got home. I'm now in bed and mommy hopes I'll sleep all night. We'll see...I can't wait until my next road trip to Bella Vista in November for Thanksgiving. Have a good week!

4 months

Joe loves his daddy time. Jeff keeps Joe on Monday and Wednesday evenings for 2-3 hours while I'm working. I love it! They get to spend time together since I tend to "hog" Joe when I'm around.

Time to brag...since Joe was about 10 weeks old, he started sleeping 8-9 hours at night and then started sleeping 10-11 hours at about 12 weeks old. I must say its been nice to be a well rested mom, but the last couple of nights, he has decided to wake up ~3am for a feed. Im guessing its a growth spurt or a change in his schedule (we are starting to keep him up longer and having 2, 2 hours naps during the day instead of sleeping 1 1/2 hours every 3 hours). He started a new thing this week. I lay him down on his back and he rolls over on his tummy to sleep and sticks his muffin butt up in the air. Its too cute!

In about 12 years (or maybe sooner), Joe is going to look back on all these pictures and say, "What were my parents thinking?" and roll his eyes.

Joe is 4 months old today. My how the time flies when you are having fun. A lot has gone on in our house this past month and boy are we glad its October! Jeff and Joe both had surgery this month, I have started back to work part time between 2 jobs and Joe has started going to Miss Allison's. We have so much to be grateful for and count our blessings daily. We are all healthy, Joe is right on time with his milestones, we love Miss Allison and this month we are traveling to see the grandparents! See you soon Marmee, Grandpa, and Grammy...
