Uncle Jay receiving Joe's newest trick "High 5"

Uncle Jay turned the big 30 on Saturday and we surprised him by showing up at his house for dinner on Friday night. He said he knew all along, but I don't think he did. We went to dinner and then they watched the Hogs beat the Hoosiers (Jan & I didn't make it through the whole game... we fell asleep).
Uncle Mac turned 30 again! I failed to get pictures, but Joe got to wish him a happy birthday too! We also got to meet sweet Karoline! She came to wish her Uncle Jay a happy birthday too. Jan & I shopped a little on Saturday and I must say....so many cuter things for girls than boys...needless to say, Aunt Jan bought several new pieces for Karoline's couture.

I hope you guys had a great birthday weekend! I know we did!

Springbreak with Grammy!

Joe's childcare provider was on spring break last week (a well deserved break!), so Grammy graciously agreed to come and watch him while I worked a couple of days this past week. We were especially spoiled by Grammy's cleaning and cooking! We prayed all week that Emma would hold off on being born, so Grammy could spend the whole week with us....and God answered our prayers. Emma is still hanging out in Aunt Diedra's belly. She'll be here soon!
Grandpa met us halfway between Dallas and Bella Vista to drop off Grammy and then met us in Russellville to pick up Grammy and take her home. In the process, Joe was able to hang out with his Grandpa a little! We miss you! Thanks so much for meeting us and sharing Grammy with us! We love you!!!!

Just Chillin

Its been a little warm here in Texas, so Joe has shed his clothes. I think the tile floor felt really good to his belly.

Let it snow...lets get a tan...let it snow...lets get a tan

So, 70 degree weather on Monday, 1 inch of snow on Tuesday, 70 degree weather on Wednesday and 1 inch of snow on Thursday...no wonder my baby has allergies, conjestion and a double ear infection. We are on another round of antibiotics and breathing treatments 2 times/day. Lucky us, the antibiotic is well liked by Joe this round...so no problems with taking medicine. Needless to say we didn't play in the snow, but I had to take 1 quick picture of Joe and his first snow (I realize he didn't have a hat on, but we were out here for 1 second and the house was blocking the wind). North of Dallas they got anywhere from 4-7 inches...we weren't that lucky...the pictures of it were beautiful. I love snow! Maybe next time we will be sans ear infection and we can play in it.

9 months

Joe turned 9 months last Sunday. We were in Houston celebrating his Aunt Marti's birthday and can you believe, we didn't take 1 picture! We thought about it on Sunday, but neither Marti and I wanted to be in a picture, so we said next time. This was Joe's first trip to Houston and he enjoyed himself. He went to 2 Farmer's Markets, went to Spec's (a great store that has food and beverages from all over the world!), watched his mom and aunt eat sushi and made friends with Aunt Marti's puppy dogs. As soon as he starts talking, Im sure he'll be asking when we can go back to Houston to see Aunt Martita.
Things new with Joe at 9 months:
*balancing on his knees
*pulling himself up
*feeding himself fingerfoods (although 1 out of 10 things make it into his mouth)
*after ~10 minutes in his high chair...he's done!
*crawling out of his bumbo
*smiling on cue when the camera is in his face
*finding George's property fast (including his bone, his food and his tail!)
Things Joe is looking forward to in the next month:
*eating meat
*the birth of his cousin Emma
*the Easter bunny
*Uncle Jay turning 30 (wish we could be there though)
