My good friend, Hilary, came in from Alaska for a short visit. We were able to visit with her yesterday along with my girls from work. We enjoyed white pizza (mmmm...), chocolate and iced coffee paired up with great conversation. Hopefully, we can plan a trip next summer to visit Hilary and Sean in Alaska...but we're glad Sean let Hilary come see us. We miss you Auntie Hilary!

Fun-filled weekend

Joe & his future wing-man, Chris

We had a fun-filled weekend. On Friday, Joe went on his 1st field trip to Hawaiian Falls with Miss Allison and the crew. I went along with them since I had the day off. Joe loved it! I don't have any action water shots as there were kids everyone and water flying and I didn't want to ruin my camera...although, it would be nice to get a new one! Anyways, we spent ~4 hours there and had lunch at the waterpark as well. Im sad to report that Joe did receive his 1st minor sunburn despite 2 doses of 55spf sunscreen....oh well, as fair as he is and as much as he loves to be outside, it was bound to happen. We had a great time Miss Allison! Thanks for investing in your kiddos by taking the time to HAVE FUN!
Saturday, we spent the evening with our friends Peter, Karen & little Chris. We met them at our favorite spot in Midlothian (Savor's) about 1 1/2 yrs ago and usually met up at Savor's. But since the closing of our fav spot, we've started testing out other places and have been taking turns cooking at our houses.
Sunday, we had an informal get together with our small group since we haven't met up as a group this summer. We hosted the party at our house (sorry, I don't have pictures) and Jeff cooked his pulled pork and we had all the appropriate BBQ sides. We had 9 adults & 4 children [& 1 annoying dog (George) that wouldn't leave people alone...and he got out of his cage in the garage and started scratching the front door!]. A house filled with good food & friends...what a great weekend!

Quick Update

Joe loves to go swimming. He moves his arms and feet like he's keeping himself afloat...he's such a natural. You'd think between Cabo, the 4th and this weekend he'd have a better tan ;)
We've been spending lots of time at this beautiful pool the past 2 weekends. We're thankful that our new friends (Peter, Karen and baby Chris) have a sister that has a beautiful back yard and enjoys filling it with family, friends and kiddos.

Uncle Jay & Aunt Jan visited us on the 4th of July. We had a great time and unfortunately, did not take any pictures except this one the whole weekend. We always have a great time together, but something about this weekend was even better than normal.

Joe received some bath toys for his birthday and now he's got game!

My brother, Dan, made this bookshelf for Joe when he was ~3 months old...and we are now just hanging it in Joe's room...I emailed him a picture from Pottery Barn Kids and voila!

We've been super busy around here lately, but not a whole lot of pictures to show. I've been covering a dietitian for the past 2 weeks while she was on her honeymoon. I now have a new appreciation for mommy's that work full-time. Im so thankful that God has provided my husband with a job that can support us...and also for a part-time position that keeps my mommy brain in the working world. Its really the ideal situation for our little family. I also am thankful for Miss Allison who did a wonderful job keeping Joe while I was working. In fact, Joe probably enjoyed being there full time for the past 2 weeks as there were a couple of nights, he didn't want to go home! Needless to say, we made it through the past 2 weeks and I'll be enjoying not having to be to work tomorrow morning (I hated getting up on Monday mornings prior to staying home)
