My little man

Thank you Sohaan for Joe's cookie jar...he loves it!

Jeff was off to his annual trip to St. Louis this weekend, so Joe and I were home alone all this weekend for the first time. We've had a pretty non-eventful weekend. We've done lots of shopping, playing & eating. I've even taken some naps while Joe has slept as well...its been since he was a newborn that I've done that and it has felt great!

Double Date

On Wednesday, three of my co-workers made the trip to Mexico (our nickname for our little burb because its so far south of the big D). They brought their precious little ones and we had a double date. Here are some pictures of our splendid afternoon...

Colleen and Amelia--such a cute picture!

Sohaan-the perfect gentleman. His mom is Zarana. We didn't attempt to get a picture of all of us plus the kiddos...no way that would happen.

Joe didn't make the cut for this picture...he wouldn't cooperate.

How sweet is this little guy...he's quite the ladies man

Me and my maniac man

Ahh, your first buddy in Dallas

Let's give Sohaan a hug...

Let's knock Sohann down...Joe that's not the way we treat our guests! Sorry Sohaan, I hope you and Joe can still be friends.

Happy Mother's Day!

Grilled beef tenderloin, grilled asparagus and wild mushroom gnocci with a garlic pesto cream sauce...this was my Mother's Day lunch that Jeff cooked me. Joe was supposed to help out, but he was worn out from church and took a nap instead. It was restaurant quality without the waiting. Thanks to the best boys ever, Im having a wonderful Mother's day.

The flower's were part of my mother's day gift as well as a Starbuck's gift card. I awoke this morning to cards and breakfast and then we got ready for church. Our pastor did a wonderful job in encouraging me as mother, but also challenged me. He challenged the mothers who had kids at home to prepare them to fly instead of preparing a wonderful nest for them to stay in...and ultimately not growing up. We live in a society where we pamper our kids instead of prepare them for life...now, don't get me wrong I would love to shield Joe from all harmful things...but how will he learn how to deal with things once he is out of the house?

Im also reminded on this day of what I wonderful mother God blessed me with. She has taught me so much just by her living example. She is the most trustworthy, kindhearted, servant-hearted, Godly women I know. She prepared her kids to fly and I hope I can do the same with Joe. Happy Mother's Day mom! I love you!

My new Truck!

Thanks daddy for my new dump truck! I REALLY like it!

random pictures from this week...

This would be Joe's new expression whenever he gets excited. It was hard to me to take the picture because every time he would do it, I would start laughing, the camera would shake, and the picture would be fuzzy.

Man, Im thirsty Mommy!

11 months

Joe turned 11 months old today. He thinks he's such a big boy. Miss Allison has been reporting Joe's new activity at her childcare center...he's pulling down the twins (she keeps a set of twin boys that are almost 2 yrs old)...he definitely likes to wrestle and play rough house with his daddy. He just might get kicked out of school for hitting at a very young age...he is ALL boy (well, except for his girly scream he lets out every once in a while). Most recently he has discovered the cabinet full of pots & pans. He was having such a good time banging them and interrupting TV time for his parents the other night...but what's more important TV time or child development? Thank goodness for DVR! He brings such happiness and fullfilment to our lives and we thank God everyday for this bundle of joy.
*He's not walking yet, but getting closer by the day
*He's very inquisitive
*His nebulizer treatments have been known to make him hyper
*He is a fan of any type of food (veggies included)
*We have started the process of weaning him off of breastmilk and will start whole milk very soon (next time mommy goes to the grocery store)
*His babbling is starting to sound closer to actual words (bababababa...not quite sure if that is bottle or bye, bye and mamamamama...its just one long continuous word)
