Happy Mother's Day!

Grilled beef tenderloin, grilled asparagus and wild mushroom gnocci with a garlic pesto cream sauce...this was my Mother's Day lunch that Jeff cooked me. Joe was supposed to help out, but he was worn out from church and took a nap instead. It was restaurant quality without the waiting. Thanks to the best boys ever, Im having a wonderful Mother's day.

The flower's were part of my mother's day gift as well as a Starbuck's gift card. I awoke this morning to cards and breakfast and then we got ready for church. Our pastor did a wonderful job in encouraging me as mother, but also challenged me. He challenged the mothers who had kids at home to prepare them to fly instead of preparing a wonderful nest for them to stay in...and ultimately not growing up. We live in a society where we pamper our kids instead of prepare them for life...now, don't get me wrong I would love to shield Joe from all harmful things...but how will he learn how to deal with things once he is out of the house?

Im also reminded on this day of what I wonderful mother God blessed me with. She has taught me so much just by her living example. She is the most trustworthy, kindhearted, servant-hearted, Godly women I know. She prepared her kids to fly and I hope I can do the same with Joe. Happy Mother's Day mom! I love you!
