Joe turned 6 months yesterday. We went to his well baby appointment today and he wasn't very well. He has an ear infection, sinus infection and asthma. Nothing to be concerned about. We'll just be taking medicine for the next 2 weeks. He has been congested and coughing for about a week, but I thought it would just go away because there were no signs of infection (I guess thats why you are supposed to take them to the doctor for them to diagnose..oh well). Joe hasn't been unusually fussy and has continued to eat the same. Needless to say, he got a shot today but it was a flu shot. We'll go back in January for his 6 month shots.
I worked at Children's this weekend and Joe spent the weekend with Jeff. I have so much to be thankful for. I see so many sick children at the hospital and it makes me think how lucky I am that Joe is a healthy and happy baby. Working there does make me a little anxious about what could happen to Joe, but I'm learning that God is teaching me to trust Him more. If something did happen to Joe (and my prayers are definitely that nothing ever does!), I have to know that it is all in God's plan.
I also have a wonderful husband who loves to spend time with his family. The video clip explains it all. Joe has been laughing for a couple of months now, but we are just now getting it on camera.
At six months he is...
16 pounds and 26 inches long
1. Almost crawling (im sure you'll see footage soon)
2. Sitting up (but definitely still wobbly)
3. Liking cereal more with every feed
4. He continues to be a fabulous sleeper (11hrs at night and 2-2hr naps during the day)
5. Grabbing everything in his reach

That is so cute Beth! I can't wait till Aiden starts laughing out loud. Right now he is just smiling alot. That's great that Joe sleeps 11 hours at night!! Wow, I'm really looking forward to those days.
Joe,
My Mommy says your laugh is so cute...sorry you're not feeling good, I have a sinus infection and ear infection, too. Does your Mommy make you take that pink medicine? I hate it. Hope you feel better soon and I can't wait to see you in a few weeks!
Will
I love baby giggles!! How adorable!! It sounds like little Joe is doing superb. Don't you love having a "sleeper"!! Shelby had an ear infection a couple of weeks ago. She was on some NASTY medication that was such a bear to give her.
God is definitely working in your life!! It takes strength beyond what we know to be able to have a job where sweet little babies and children are sick and suffering and to pull understanding and peace from it. I don't know how many times I've thought to myself, "what would I do if anything ever happened to Shelby?" The only response I can come up with is that I would curl up in a ball in a dark room and never come out. But, "the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will guard your heart". It's so refreshing to see God in our lives, and you definitely are seeing Him.
Love you!! Suzanne
