Family Vacation

-A park in Wimberly, Texas-
A great little town with lots of shopping and eating. The boys got tired of shopping, so they took a detour.

-Gruene, Texas (pronounced green)-
Marti stayed the weekend with us and we were shopping in this random store and decided to have a little fun. The name...The Typsy Gypsy...a lot of the merchandise seemed like she was typsy when she bought it!

Thanks to Marmee, Jeff and I celebrated my birthday, once again. We went to the Gristmill
Great food enjoyed on the patio, by the Guadalupe River. After dinner, we went to Gruene Hall. It is truly an American place. They have live country music every night with picnic tables and a dance floor. The mayor was there the night we visited. He looked to be about 80, but he was enjoying the music and all of the locals.

Another day, we went to the Wildlife Ranch. They have animals all over the place and you just drive through the wildlife. It was very fun...even the mean Osterich was entertaining.

The male peacock trying to impress the female peacock. It was so beautiful!

Here he is! He was pecking on our window, trying to get us in the car!

We were looking one way and all of a sudden Jeff turned back to his side of the car and this ram was right there! Look at his beady eyes...

The next day we went to the San Antonio Zoo. It was rated by Parents magazine to be one of the top zoo's in the country for young children...so we checked it out.

Look at the amazing color of the birds in the background! God creates some of the most beautiful creatures!

Of course we ate. This is the best BBQ in Texas...in the middle of nowhere, but seriously the best!

Marmee and Joe

We had a great trip. We stayed in Canyon Lake, Texas, but visited many of the cities in the Hill Country. Its such a great part of Texas and we look forward to going back again. We spent the majority of our days eating and shopping...the perfect vacation!
